Instructions:

  1. Grill the Brats:
    • Preheat the grill to medium heat (350-375°F).
    • Grill the Apple Brats for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally until they reach an internal temp of 160°F and have a nice char.
  2. Caramelize the Apples:
    • While the brats cook, melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Add the apple slices, brown sugar, cinnamon, and apple cider.
    • Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft and caramelized.
  3. Toast the Buns:
    • Lightly toast the brioche or pretzel buns on the grill or in a skillet for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Assemble the Brats:
    • Spread Dijon mustard on each toasted bun.
    • Place the grilled Apple Brat inside.
    • Spoon the caramelized apples over the brat.
    • Top with shredded white cheddar (if using) and let it melt.
    • Sprinkle crispy fried onions for extra crunch (optional).
  5. Enjoy!
    • Serve with a side of kettle chips, sweet potato fries, or a crisp apple slaw.
    • Pair with a cold hard cider or a smooth amber ale.

🔥 Tip: If you love a little extra heat, add a drizzle of hot honey or a touch of spicy mustard!
